![]() ![]() With TMobile -115 still works solidly and I even get decent data download speeds. With Verizon -100 meant my call was going to start to break up. Even the dbm levels mean different things with different carriers. It's the best way to find out if you have coverage in the places you go. There's a small amount of risk - if you don't return it at all it costs $600, if you return it broken it's $100, but just be careful with it. Have you heard of the TMobile Test Drive? You sign up online, and TMobile ships you a free iphone to use for 1 week to test out your coverage. TMobile will even send you a good free wifi router that will prioritize your phone call wifi traffic for free. So if you have a decent internet connection, your phone will work anywhere, even places with absolutely no TMobile signal. However, TMobile has wifi calling build into nearly all the smartphones they sell now (the only exception is the Nexus 6, which they've officially said will be getting it early next year). However, it just depends on where you are. TMobile builds out it's network more densely which compensates for less penetrating signal. In my area (Minneapolis, Mn) I was on Verizon for 10 years and switched to TMobile because TMobile has better in-building coverage here than Verizon does. However, there's an area to the west of your zip code that says "service partner" so what kind of service it has now (it could be 2g, it could be lte) and if it's 2g how long it will take to upgrade - who knows. The TMobile coverage map says "2G" in your area, so it should be upgraded to LTE by the middle of 2015. I know I could use Wi-Fi calling or get a signal booster but I'm worried about other places in town or when I travel.Įdit: Also Verizon has terrible coverage compared to Sprint in my apartment Is there a list of phone's that T-Mobile offers that support band 12?Īlso I'm a little worried about building penetration because in my apartment I get 1~2 bars of LTE and full bars of 3G/2G but I have a neighbor with a T-Mobile straight talk phone and they get 2 bars to no service depending on where they are standing. I'll be moving to Pennsylvania in about six months so I'd like to get a phone that supports band 12. It would be hard but I think I could manage.īack when I had a iPhone 4S on AT&T I jailbroke and forced EDGE and that was enough to stream music and with 4 bars I could even make Skype video call's with good resolution and no frame drops.įunny thing is even with Sprint's image compression I'm still happier with them than I ever was with AT&T and just not having to worry about going over your data limit from tapping a link in a text message is very liberating!įor now I'm using a VPN while on cellular so images come in fine and I can actually see faces and fast forward on videos but the VPN uses around 15% of my battery which is already crap on my GS5 especially compared to T-Mobile. Line 3: old line 2/$10 for third line + $30 for unlimited (req by promo) - $30 (referral credit) = $10 Line 2: old line 3/$0 for unlimited (promo, up from 1GB) = $0 Line 1: $0 for unlimited (current promo) -$0 (lose referral credit, oh well) = $0 Line 3: $10 for third line + $0 for basic data plan = $10 Line 2: $30 for unlimited - $30 (refer a friend credit) = $0 Line 1: $20 for unlimited (old plan) - $10 (refer a friend credit) = $10 Can I switch that line out with the third line, so that the referral promo line is the $10/mo third line without losing the data promo?Īssuming I can, can I then switch the other two lines to the new 2 line $100 unlimited promo, and keep the unlimited data referral on the third line? That referral credit line is currently one of the first two covered by the $80 for two lines charge. I have three lines, one of which has free unlimited data for a year due to the refer a friend promo. r/tmoemployees: The sub for employees only Slow Data Speeds? - Read this to learn before you post!
